Fact|date=February 2007 In November 2007, THQ confirmed that it has acquired the license for the Homeworld franchise. Shortly afterwards, Relic Studios was bought by THQ, a direct competitor of publishers Sierra and Vivendi, who owned the Homeworld license. It features enhanced graphics and audio and its gameplay takes a new direction: Vaygr and Hiigaran ships differ significantly in design and application, in contrast to the closely equivalent Kushan and Taiidan forces of the original game. It takes place after the events in Homeworld, and concerns Hiigara's response to a new enemy called the Vaygr.
